Li Chang Jin Invited to Attend the China-Indonesia Business Summit

On the evening of June 10th, Chinese Premier Li Ke Qiang together with Vice President of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla attended the China-Indonesia Business Summit and delivered a keynote speech in Jakarta. CREC Party Secretary cum Managing Director, Li Chang Jin was invited to attend the summit and joined the dinner with the politicians and business community from both countries.

Premier Li’s primary purpose for the visit is to further strengthen the bilateral relations and push forward the pragmatic cooperation between the two nations to a greater level. He said that Indonesia is a developing country with important significance and a representative of emerging market economies. During Chinese President Xi Jin Ping's visit to Indonesia in 2013, the two sides reached broad, important agreement and charted a course for the development of China-Indonesia relations. Under the joint efforts made by people from all walks of life of both countries, China's relations with Indonesia have embarked on a fast lane of development. Economic and trade cooperation has been the most vibrant and productive component of bilateral cooperation.

Vice President Kalla expressed that the convening of the Indonesia-China Business Summit demonstrates the strong confidence of both countries’ business leaders in bilateral economic and trade development. China is welcomed to continuously increase investment in Indonesia, expand two-way exports of products, and work with Indonesia to jointly boost the construction of regional comprehensive economic corridors, and deepen cooperation in areas such as tourism, digital economy, manufacturing, energy, environment, and infrastructure.

In the joint statement of the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia on that day, it is clear that the construction of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway will continue in the framework of the “Belt and Road Initiative” and the Indonesia’s "Global Maritime Nexus" vision. At the same time, China and Indonesia also signed the Memorandum of Understanding between the National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China and the state-owned Enterprise Department of the Republic of Indonesia on the continued smooth implementation of the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Railway project.

The Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Railway project is a landmark project jointly promoted by Indonesia and China through the “Belt and Road Initiative” and is first on the list of China’s high-speed rail “Go out” policy. At present, the land acquisition and demolition of the project is accelerating, and the land of control and heavy-duty projects will be delivered to the whole project. The project capital and bank loans will be put in place according to the construction needs. China and Indonesia will further cooperate closely, strengthen project construction and management, and make every effort to ensure the smooth progress in the project in order to construct across the board as soon as possible.

As an important member of the construction of the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Railway project, China Railway Group Limited (CREC) has overcome many difficulties and already completed the pilot phase project, and has been fully affirmed by the Chinese and Indonesian parties. In the future, CREC will make persistent efforts to comprehensively promote and build this state-of-art project.
